Yacht Charter Malta
Yacht charter Malta opens the door to an archipelago steeped in 7,000 years of history, where the honey-coloured bastions of Valletta – a UNESCO World Heritage city built by the Knights of St John – rise directly from the Grand Harbour and the island’s limestone cliffs are riddled with hidden coves, blue grottoes, and some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean. Beyond Valletta, the sister island of Gozo offers rural tranquility, the inland sea at Dwejra, and the red-sand bay of Ramla, while tiny Comino is home to the luminous Blue Lagoon, a shallow turquoise pool that is best experienced from the deck of a yacht at anchor. The resident charter fleet numbers around 15 yachts, supplemented by visiting vessels from Sicily and the wider central Mediterranean: luxury catamarans from 55 ft, modern motor yachts in the 68–98 ft range, and superyachts above 100 ft. Peak season runs from late June through September, when the Maltese summer is at its warmest and the calendar fills with festas and fireworks; May–June and October offer gentler temperatures and quieter harbours.
Charter rates start from €4,800 per day on a catamaran, from €5,900 per day on a motor yacht, from €9,900 per day on the latest 88–99 ft models, and from €12,900 per day on superyachts, plus 18% Maltese VAT and APA. Malta packs an extraordinary density of culture, scenery, and diving into a remarkably compact cruising ground.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a Malta charter?
With a smaller resident fleet than many Mediterranean destinations, we recommend booking four to eight months ahead for peak-season charters between July and September. The most popular yachts are allocated early, particularly during the August festa season. Shoulder-season voyages in May–June or October can usually be confirmed with two to three months’ notice.
Can I combine Malta with Sicily?
Yes, and it’s one of the central Mediterranean’s most rewarding cross-border itineraries. Sicily’s south-eastern coast – including Syracuse, Ragusa, and the volcanic Aeolian Islands – lies roughly 50 nautical miles north of Malta. A ten-day charter allows ample time to explore both destinations, and our team can handle any additional logistics for the crossing.
Is Malta suitable for families with young children?
Malta is an excellent choice for families. The Blue Lagoon on Comino offers warm, shallow water ideal for younger swimmers, and the fortified cities of Valletta and Mdina are rich in interactive history that captivates children. Short inter-island distances mean limited time at sea, and most yachts carry paddleboards, snorkelling gear, and water toys.
What is included in the charter price?
The base rate covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard onboard equipment. Fuel, provisioning, berthing fees at Valletta’s Grand Harbour Marina and elsewhere, and any special requests fall under the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), typically 25–35% of the charter fee. Maltese VAT at 18% applies to all locally contracted charters.
